A Tribute to Family Mart

Many places advertise as "one stop shopping" but few deliver on their word. When it comes to being a college student living in Korea, one stop shopping is possible thanks to FamilyMart.

Whether I have slept in and have to grab breakfast on the way to class, stayed out late and want ice cream or want to take advantage of legally drinking outside with open an container, FamilyMart is where I, and many of my classmates, go to get our fix.

Four things make FamilyMart amazing:

1) The are open 24 hours and sell anything at any time of day.

2) There is a Family Mart every five blocks which means breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack time is never too far away.

3) Everything is cheap. We are talking 60 cent Kim bab triangles, $1.20 crustless sandwiches, 80 cent sodas, $1.20 for a bottle of beer and, most importantly, $1.45 for a bottle of soju.

- Soju for days.

- Demi Soda and 2 percent. Two drinks I will miss dearly.

4) They have patio furniture outside which means you have a place to eat as soon as you walk out the store.

FamilyMart has been just that: Family.
